British movie stars have inspired me, educated me about history and gave me the love of it, and have given me and taught me about hope, as well as encouraging my creativity and imagination.
I was sick often when I was young and was at home often Monday through Friday, and the many historical dramas that I saw taught me about ethics and caring about others, including people from other cultures and countries and caused me to be interested in their history as well.
The 1930's versions of "A Tale of Two Cities", (by Charles Dickens), (made in 1935), starring Ronald Colman, Elizabeth Allan and Edna May Oliver, and The Scarlet Pimpernel, made in 1934 (released in 1935), (by Baroness Emmuska Orczy). starring Leslie Howard, Merle Oberon and Raymond Massey, both taught me about the horror of the Reign of Terror during the French Revolutionary period, and about courage and self-sacrifice in the face of insurmountable opposition, and evil.
Thank you and God Bless all of the British movie stars, those that are still with us, and those that are with the Lord.
